Breeders’ Cup 2009 Frank Lyons, Chip Woolley, Bobby Jackson Interviews – Mostly Fillies Friday
Breeders’ Cup interviews with Frank Lyons of TVG fame, Chip Woolley of Mine That Bird fame, but not so much about the horse as about his thoughts on his likeness on the front of the Daily Racing Form, and finally, Bobby Jackson. No Todd Pletcher interview today. He seemed pretty … tense … or maybe he just thinks I’m the curse of bad luck. A winning trifecta ticket of Ed’s, and finally, two men that drank too much. I never did catch up with Chris Kotulak. Darn it! Maybe some day … maybe tomorrow! Frank said Chris is single! Woo hoo!

Just some footage taken by friends at the 2009 Breeders’ Cup Classic in what was likely Zenyatta’s final race. She will be greatly missed. Zenyatta is not only a “Horse of the Decade,” but also a “horse of the People” — she inspired so many fans, and the connection she had with them is just indescribable. I have never witnessed such admiration (even for human entertainers and athletes) in my life! She will surely go down in the history books as one of the GREATEST horses that ever lived! I feel very lucky to have seen her and to have witnessed her races in my lifetime. I am thankful for all the memories, which I will share with all my children and great, great, grandchildren
