  1. Very good thank you …
    Very good thank you larry,
What would you recomend with horses thyat tend to put their head high when asking them to turn tightly??
    Thanks

  2. Another good video …
Another good video of yours. What I think is important to note is that you don’t go to a harsher bit to correct an attitude. It looks like you’re staying with the snaffle and working the attitude mentally.
I would agree with others that more round-penning work on her manners and respect might be helpful – I don’t know how much of that you’ve already done?

    Larry, very …
Larry, very informative video. I have a 3yr old filly that is also very strong willed and tough. I find on a cow though, she is just as determined not to be beaten. She is a very rewarding filly to train and is starting to come very good with lots of miles. Good luck with her.

  4. Larry, she’s quite …
Larry, she’s quite a beauty, the catch issue you’ve told in your lettre doesn’t seems to be that much, if i could i would get her, due economic situations in our country am unfortionally to get her, but the over reacting acts she has, is just the frightness of doing something wrong, if i may say my upinion. she’ll get out of it.. Take care, i try to find some people here who wants to buy. Denis.better known as Des in our country Belgium

Now Im not expert…lets get that straight
The horse needs more time either on the ground, or ground driving maybe.. I say that cuz she isnt supple. You wont be able to do anything unless she is supple.
watch how clinton anderson supples a horse. Not what I would call a good turn around. I just read an article about horses just like this one. A horse tht has a temper, and gives up, wont be a show horse. Papers arnt everything. seems willing, but maybe a different event will work

  6. Ck,
    If you ever …

    Ck,
If you ever get the chance to watch Al Dunning or Les Vogt, you’ll see really good, versatile trainers.
Also, Russ Westphal, who I personally don’t care for, is one of the best hands I’ve ever seen. You would be amazed at what he can get done. If you get a chance to watch him school a horse you’ll learn a lot.

  7. Larry,
    I love …

    Larry,
I love this video for your honesty and integrity to not sugarcoat her ‘issues’.
I have found myself with a few horses like this over the years. And thru all the blood, sweat and tears, I have been grateful for the learning experiences they gave me. And might I add, they did turn into good horses, just takes ‘em a little longer than most. I guess I’m one of those who always welcomes a challenge. This filly is tempting…I just wish I had the time and room for one more!
    ~ Best Wishes

    I like your attitude, ck.
    I feel the same way.
I love watching good progress no matter what the dicipline.

  9. Thank you Larry for …
Thank you Larry for your honesty and candidness. Beautiful mare. Thank you for showing us a horse that is harder to get through to. She does look like she’s more accepting of your methods the further into the video. I’m a dressage rider, but I truly enjoy watching good trainers in action regardless of the discipline. Watching you ride a horse makes me want to learn more about cutting!

  10. Great video Larry. …
Great video Larry. My mare has similar issues so I really appreciated seeing how you worked with this filly. Great video that really shows what you are doing as well as explaining the horse’s behavior! Thanks.

  11. Good to hear from …
Good to hear from you Don.
Please say hello to Don Pooley for me.
I’ve lost touch with him over the years.
I’ve always considered him and his Dad top hands.
    Thanks a bunch.
    Larry T.

  12. What you find …
What you find uncooperative and arguetive someone else may except as ‘heart’ . I would take a little less talent over bad attitude. There is someone for every horse, though.
    good luck.

  13. She is a gorgeous …
She is a gorgeous filly, very well put together.

  14. Larry,
    Looks like …

    Larry,
Looks like she has a big motor. Will you be posting a video of her on cattle? By the way the last German Martingale I bought from you I gave to Don Pooley . He thought the quality of leather and it’s construction was one of the best he has seen. Thanks for you willingness to always help.

  15. You are welcome too …
You are welcome too. I forgot to ask, how tall is she and how tall will she be when full grown?

  16. You are welcome, …
    You are welcome, Roanna.
    Thanks for getting my DVDs.
    I appreciate it.
    Larry T.

  17. Yes, she did it …
Yes, she did it pretty well.
She has a lot of natural talent.
Just need to get some cooperation.
    Larry T.

  18. She likes to …
    She likes to discuss it.
BUT, once she agrees to cooperate, she is very good.
    Larry T.

  19. Hi Larry, thanks …
Hi Larry, thanks for all your videos, DVDs, YouTubes, no frills, always make perfect sense to me and explanations/instructions are super clear. She looks like a wonderful horse anyway and I loved that you laughed when she acted up.. I hope she finds her perfect person, wish it could be me. thanks again

  20. For a horse that …
For a horse that doesn’t know how to spin looked good to me. (I’m not an expert on spinning). I hope you find her a good home. I’d buy her but live in England so a bit too far!

  21. Hi Larry, is she …
Hi Larry, is she less spooky and overreacting on cow ? Or does she always “discouss” what to do ? Thanks for answer.

  22. Just curious: have …
Just curious: have you had her checked out by an equine chiropractor? This has helped me on occasion with bracing issues.

  23. I’ not familiar …
I’ not familiar with that Gabriel so I don’t know.
    Larry T.

  24. Hey Larry, so can …
Hey Larry, so can that filly be used for charreadas (mexican rodeos)? Cause I would just normally train them with the hackamore scissor bosal and slowly move into the curb bit. I have a 10 yr old QH broodmare and I’m also trying to sell her so will you accept some kind of deal?
    Thank You,
    Gabriel Ortiz

  25. Hi PocketPonies.

    Hi PocketPonies.
She is actually pretty decent outside the training pen.
I haven’t had her outside enough to say for sure but she’s not a spooking kind of horse.
    Larry T.
