A Natural Start to Horse Training

admin on April 30th, 2010

Three-week-old Andalusion/TB colt Venidero’s Dior is benefiting from a natural start to horse training thanks to the principles of Parelli Natural Horsemanship. In this video, Parelli student Anne Favre and Dior’s mom, April, help Dior build confidence and curiosity. With such great experiences as a foal, Dior’s future training will be set up for success!

I don’t see any training going on. hat I see is a very cute foal following his beautiful dam around, and playing with a ball, like the adult horses here do. It may be good for him to be desensitized to those things, but it would be better to do it with a human handler and a halter, because then he learns that he has to trust the human instead of follow his mom.

  2. horseawareness, …
horseawareness, putting a pad on won´t make any difference as the pressure would still be there. it is HOW one rides and distributes ones own weight that counts.

  3. Really cute video …
Really cute video and good sacking out. I normally don’t comment on videos, but you riding bareback just got to me. A horse has thin skin, no muscle on his spine and is sensitive. Put a pad on, I know a lot of people think it is cool to ride a horse bare back but it hurts a horse’s back, if does not feel good and is hard on the spine, your butt bone on his back bone. Use a pad for the horse.

That was so reminiscent of when we were raising babies, the economy has kept us from breeding, too many unwanted horses out there now, thank you for such a great video

I also don’t like parelli because the stuff that they show you how to do can be done and has been done for years with the same sort of material that they try to sell us and it has the same concept of things i can make and do at home. But the video was cute!
