I need help selling my horse.?
Due to financial issues I have to sell my 6 year old arabian mare, and I’ve been trying to sell her for awhile. I’ve put her on almost every horse classifieds site known to man, and still no one wants her. :[ I need to get rid of her asap! Any ideas?
Advertise on http://www.liverystable.net and include a lot of description, good photos, and a reasonable price. In your description say "motivated seller, will consider all offers" so people know you really need to sell.
horses aren’t bringing a lot unless there’s training/show experience that makes them valuable. The market is down, I’m hoping it’ll start to come up as the weather turns better, but the slaughter issue has really hurt it.
I hope you find a buyer. If not, try to lease her to a riding stable or send her to a rescue. I think you have to consider all options, and make sure you are asking a reasonable price for her. Good luck!
how much do you want to sell her for? price is a big issue when selling a horse. also look up local classifieds and post her. try your local trading post.

Take new photos, post new adds and lower her price and indicate in the add that there has been a price reduction. Also, take a short video of it and express in your adds that you have video of her. TALK HER UP LIKE CRAZY in the add. Iam sure she is a nice mare! Just be patient – but definatley make some changes to her add like I noted above. You’ll be suprised what happens!
Worse comes to worse, be willing to give her away at an extremely low cost if any to a nice, deserving family that can provide for her. I would definatley do this as an absolute last resort and make a whole new add with new photos and take a short video of her
A good picture alone says 1,000 words!
Good Luck! Sorry you have to sell her!

Is your asking price within reason to her training level, abilities, and breeding? If not, try lowering the asking price. If you need to find her a home fast though, you might have to significantly lower the price to the bare minimum you would accept for her – or perhaps even consider giving her away to a nice family willing to take her. Try calling your local stables and offering her to the owner at a very low price (like no more than 1K) or for free – some barns are willing to take on cheap sale horses as training projects. If all else fails, try a rescue (though in all honesty I would not bank on a rescue too much as there is often a waiting list for any type of no-kill shelter and I would be surprised if you got right in). Also step up your local advertising efforts via newspapers, posters at feed, pet, and tack stores – horse classified sites are nice but there are SO many horses on there from all parts, you have alot of competition.

well, myabe try lowering you price, and put your horse on maybe kijiji.ca or usedottawa.com aswell. If you already did that i would maybe lower my price and put lots of nice pictures and just go on about how beautiful and nice he is
good luck, just please dont put your horse to the glue factory or anything like that.

Flyers at local feed and tack stores, most people buy local. And in all reality, drop the price. The horse market crashed and last year my boss couldn’t sell registered horses for $700, and these aren’t rinky-dink stock, they come out of national champion sires and dams.

Unfortunately the horse market is not doing so hot right now, a reflection of the rest of the economy. I’ve had my horse for sale for a long time too, and only one person interested. Good luck, your best bet is lower your price.

price is probably the issue . i once knew a pony that had to be advertised at more than they wanted ( it was still cheap when it was increased ) to get people interested as they see a pony very cheap and think its got something wrong when all they wanted was a quick sale. anyway they added £500 pounds to the asking price in the same magasine , same wording etc but they had double the phone calls the next day and they sold it for the origional price . likewise she may be very over priced . im sorry but people arent really looking at horses at this time of year wait a month or so for warmer weather as there are alot of people that buy horses for the summer then sell them ( ie kids at boarding school )
