my mums horse is 17 this year and he still moves like a 7 year old go test her out, and you’ll know if her time should come to be a companion horse but hey you never know.

  1. Her age worries me a bit. At seventeen, a horse is getting older. You wouldn’t be able to do a lot of large jumping with her, but at the 2′6" level, she seems like she would be a good horse. Go ahead and test her out. See if your personalities mesh well. It never hurts to check out a horse. Talk to the owners about what she’s done in the past and what you plan on doing with her. See what they have to say and know.

  2. You’re the one with the horse Dot right? Good luck with her. I would say that horse looks like a great jumper, but you would have to try her out for yourself

  3. Looks alright. you probably wouldn’t be able to jump her too high due to her age, and she is a bit slack with tucking up her knees and lower leg when she’s at the full arc of her jump – pretty average technique.

  4. Yes, she looks a little up over the fence, I like my horses a little more rounded, over more with their legs straight, I’m sorry I can’t really put it in words.. here’s a picture http://i282.photobucket.com/al.....1673-1.jpg

But other than that she looks really good, she can jump fine and looks sound, but I just like to see them more like the horse in my picture..

    I hope that I helped you :)

  5. she looks like a good, level headed, packer to me… ya know the type of horse that will just plod around the ring no matter what…if thats the type of thing your looking for but you really cant tell unless you go and try her out. and the pic isnt very good mostly because the riders position and eq arent very good =/ i hope this helps!

  6. She look like a very nice horse, but for hunters, she would interfere with your position becuse it looks to me as if she is heavy on the forehand. Its just my opinion, but it might be better to find something that is somewhat less dependant on the riders hands. It is just a picture so I am in no position to critique her, so if she is the opposite of what I am saying, I would get her. She looks very nice for a 17 year old.

  7. say this horse in an eariler question…she looks like a good jumper but most horses retire from jumping around 16 or 17ish so her age is a big concern =]]

  8. It may be just the height of the jumps, but this horse has a very sloppy front end. In the last shot, his knees are dangerously uneven. A horse like this worries me that he might catch a hoof on a rail and somersault over the fence (I’ve seen it happen, and it’s not something you ever want to experience).

If this will be your first horse, talk to a few trainers in your area. Hopefully you have someone already for lessons. There are so many sales horses that never make it online for the general public, but are only known to trainers. A reputable professional will evaluate your riding level and bring you to see safe, qualified prospects in your price range that are suitable for your experience. A horse is such an expensive investment, and so much can go wrong, it pays to take the advice of a professional.

  10. I would look somewhere else…because of her age show jumping would probably be a little too much for her…also if you look at the pics she’s not jumping anything all that high..about 2-2.3ft?
I also don’t like her jumping form, she’s a bit sloppy and her knees aren’t tight…
She’s fairly priced but I dont think you could go that far on her :( sorry!

Also, unless you just like Arabs…i’m not a fan of jumping them…

If you’re looking for something in that area with that price range i did a quick search and came up with these! Good luck!

  11. Personally, I think her back is too long to have a good bascule over jumps. But it depend on what you will be doing with her. If its hacking, a little novice showjumping and first horse things then go ahead.

But if you were planning on seriously show jumping her with many wins in mind at higher classes she is not for you.
