ZENYATTA – footage from the Breeders’ Cup Classic, her final race
Just some footage taken by friends at the 2009 Breeders’ Cup Classic in what was likely Zenyatta’s final race. She will be greatly missed. Zenyatta is not only a “horse of the Decade,” but also a “Horse of the People” — she inspired so many fans, and the connection she had with them is just indescribable. I have never witnessed such admiration (even for human entertainers and athletes) in my life! She will surely go down in the history books as one of the GREATEST horses that ever lived! I feel very lucky to have seen her and to have witnessed her races in my lifetime. I am thankful for all the memories, which I will share with all my children and great, great, grandchildren

Really good footage …
Really good footage. Before the 09′ Breeder’s Cup, I ranked the 01′ BC Classic where Tiznow won “it for America” and the 04′ Belmont where Birdstone caught Smarty Jones in deep stretch as the most powerful and emotional races I had seen in person. But Zenyatta’s Classic win trumped them. It was an honor to be there.

Wow! I love that poster — very unique and it really stood out. What a day to remember!!! When she won, everyone was jumping and so many people had tears in their eyes!! I think you were there too at Hollywood Park when Zenyatta made an appearance last Nov. 30th.

OMG! That is my poster: ZENYATTA A TREASURE!! Thanks for getting a picture of it… I was so far back from the paddock. I had a paddock pass for the saddle barn, but I was too shy to go in!! Shame on me! Your video really captures the crowd reaction – UNBELIEVEABLE!! I cried tears of joy when she crossed the wire. Thanks for posting! I’m sharing with other ZEN fans…:-)
