Texas – Horse for sale – Roddy
Update 7/21/09 – We are motivated to sell this year due to financial reasons and lack of time due to me being in school (I am a veterinary technician student). I must sacrifice my passion for the family so I am open to consider all offers on both horses for sale (sell together or separate), Roddy and Sam. Please disregard the previously listed asking prices as we will consider offers for much less than that. I am also open to non-eating trades on them as well. Also, if anyone is interested, I can also make a package deal on the two horses and a ‘97 four horse/stock combo bumper pull trailer (does have some rust, the sheet metal in the front is rusted through however the frame foundation is very solid and in good shape) as well as all the tack I have available. I have three saddles to choose from, or take all, including a nice Tex Tan pleasure saddle, a really nice Billy Cook rough out cutting/working cowhorse saddle and a roping saddle – all in great condition. Other tack I have includes but is not limited to lots of nice high quality harness leather bridles with split reins and roping reins, good quality snaffle bits and Tom Thumb bits as well as a high port argentine bit and of course saddle pads, nylon sheets, sport boots, and other training gear such as draw reins, lunge and dressage whips and rope halters. These items can also be sold separately if you would like but I thought I would throw that out there for anyone wanting the entire package.

11yr old solid bay APHA gelding. Ranch horse, team roping (ropes both ends but mostly heading). Anyone can ride after a quick warm up. Jackpot horse potential, started and loping the barrel pattern as well – takes to it like a natural! Very well trained, neck reins, moves off of legs and a very nice ride, you’ll fall in love the minute you ride him. Located in Columbus, TX. Roddy is well worth $3500 but times are tight right now and we know we probably have to take a lot less so make an offer. My loss is your gain.

His price has been reduced now due to the need to sell the boys (Roddy and Sammie, see my other video of the other horse for sale as well). I am asking $4500 for Roddy and $3500 for Sammie and I am open to offers as well. We have many things that we are going to need for moving a house in and remodeling as well as fencing that needs to be done for goats and we need a barn built as well. His price has actually just gone up to $7500.00 due to his progress in barrel training. He is digging around those barrels very well and showing interest in what he is doing, he will for sure be competitive in barrels as well now. Yet he windes down to a very calm, level headed horse just before and after running the pattern. I can lope him around the arena and barrels and he still remains calm, only when I tell him will he put some fire into the run. He is 11 yrs old and about 15.2 hands tall.
